BAGUIO CITY — In a meaningful step toward youth development and community engagement, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Baguio City, in partnership with the 2600 Skateboarding Community, has officially launched its \"Adopt A Board\" program, aiming to empower young individuals through sports and recreation.
The initiative proudly recognized Mr. Amir Guesdan Abbas, a dedicated youth from Barangay Happy Homes, by presenting him with a brand-new skateboard. This act not only supports his passion for the sport but also serves as a symbol of encouragement for others to pursue active and creative lifestyles.
In addition, a chessboard donation was made to the Barangay of Camdas Subdivision, offering an opportunity for youth in the area to develop strategic thinking and discipline through the game of chess.
“These simple gifts represent greater opportunities,” said an SK representative. “Whether on a board or across a chessboard, we want our youth to have platforms that foster personal growth, creativity, and positive community values.”
This program aligns with the SK’s mission to provide inclusive, skill-building opportunities for Baguio’s youth—encouraging both physical activity and mental development.
As the program continues, SK Baguio and its partners hope to reach more young individuals and barangays in future waves of donation and engagement.
